“We assessed the service as it had not yet been rated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). At the time of the assessment, there were 20 people receiving a regulated activity of personal care. The service provides support to children and young people who have a range of needs, including mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism.”

“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, Right care, Right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”
“We identified concerns in relation to restrictive practices and unlawful restraint. Additionally, people’s assessments and care plans did not always demonstrate the use of restraint was the least restrictive option. People did not always have clear information in their care plans about how to support them with behaviours in a positive and proactive way.”
“However, people had information in their care plans about their likes and interests. There was a process in place to support people to safely transition between services. Staff told us they felt well supported and enjoyed working for the service. Staff worked well together as a team.”
“We identified breaches of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment, safeguarding service users from abuse and good governance.”
