“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. Staff had undertaken relevant training, and the registered manager had experience of providing nursing care to people with a learning disability. Suitable policies and procedures were in place. The registered manager demonstrated an understanding about how they would apply best practice guidance when supporting people with a learning disability.”

“The provider assessed and planned for people’s needs and choices. They supported people to set objectives and be involved in making decisions about their care. The provider assessed risks to people’s safety.”

“There were enough staff to keep people safe and meet their needs. Staff undertook a range of relevant training. Staff felt supported by the registered manager and had opportunities to learn about their roles and responsibilities.”

“There were effective systems for monitoring and improving the quality of the service. They asked stakeholders for feedback. The provider responded when things went wrong and made improvements following incidents and complaints.”
