“The provider carried out assessments before a person began to use the service. These assessments included people’s likes and dislikes to enable staff to be matched to people.”

“Care plans were personalised to make sure staff had up to date information about the needs of the people they supported. Risk assessments had been carried out to make sure people received care with minimum risk to themselves and staff. Some risk assessments had not been dated when they were reviewed which made it difficult to see if they contained the most up to date information about risk. This was being addressed by the registered manager.”

“Staff were safely recruited and received the appropriate training to carry out their role. This included training from other healthcare professionals in the use of specific equipment.”

“Staff had received training in how to recognise and report any signs of abuse. Staff told us they would be comfortable to raise any issues with the registered manager or senior member of staff. All were confident any concerns raised would be fully investigated and action would be taken to protect people.”

“The provider was committed to making sure people received high quality care from the service. Spot checks were carried out to monitor the quality of the care provided. There were satisfaction surveys which enabled people to share feedback. The registered manager also analysed all accidents, incidents, compliments and concerns to understand where improvements could be made. Learning was shared with staff to ensure ongoing learning and improvements.”
