“We undertook this responsive assessment to check on specific concerns we had received about the environment, peoples' safety and well-being, the culture and the management of risk in the service.”

“During this assessment, we found that systems and processes to support people’s safety were not always followed. Information gathered from incidents, accidents and feedback was not effectively used to make changes and improvements to the quality of care. The environment and essential equipment was not well maintained. We identified improvements were also required to the governance, management and sustainability of the service and there was a negative culture at the home between staff and management.”

“The provider was receptive to our feedback and had started implementing improvements quickly to mitigate risk to people.We received an action plan from the registered manager with time frames during the assessment process.”

“The provider had liaised with external health professionals to provide joined up care and treatment for people. Staff and management knew people well, and this had ensured risk was minimised. There were sufficient staff deployed. Staff received an induction, training and support that enabled them to manage people’s health and social care safely. Staff were seen to be kind and respectful to people.”
