Report published 20 January 2026
“Dates of the assessment were 29 September 2025 and 9 October 2025. St Lukes Care Home is a care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care. At the time of this assessment 25 people were living at the home The assessment was carried out because CQC had received some recent concerns in relation to staffing levels, people’s personal hygiene and food and fluid intake. We found the provider did not always work well with people to understand and manage risks. We identified some people’s needs were not always met in respect of management of their skin integrity, continence care and nutrition and hydration; however, we found no impact to people. This had been identified in audits carried out by the provider in June 2025, but the same concerns were identified in our assessment. This put people at risk of potential harm to their health and wellbeing. The provider assessed and managed the risk of infection. The provider did not always make sure medicines and treatments were safe and met people’s needs, however, we did not find harm to people. Safeguarding events were logged, referred, investigated, and responded to. The provider did not always have clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability or good governance. People told us there were not enough staff to support people. People and relatives told us that staff were kind and caring and respected their wishes and choices.”
