“People had access to nutritious home cooked food. Mealtimes were relaxed and provided people with an opportunity to socialise. People enjoyed living in a pleasant environment which was clean and well maintained. Peoples care plans were person centred. Care and support were regularly assessed using best practice assessment tools, to help ensure support was relevant and current. Staff worked collaboratively with external professionals. Any referrals made to external health care professionals were made appropriately and in a timely way.”

“Most staff had worked at the home for a long time and had developed close relationships with the people they supported. Staff understood people’s needs and preferences well. Staff supported people with the utmost compassion, respect and dignity and considered people as part of a ‘wider family.’ The registered manager, who was also the provider, was highly visible within the home and approachable to people and staff alike. The provider had clear and effective governance, management and accountability systems in place.”
