Malden House

“Date of Assessment 10 February to 12 March 2026. The service is a residential care home for up to 29 older people some of whom live with dementia. At the time of the inspection there were 29 people living at Malden House. Staff were passionate about providing high quality care. The senior management team had excellent oversight of the home and carried out regular checks of the quality of care. Robust effective systems were in place to ensure peoples care needs were met. The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. Staff knew people well and could mitigate risks of harm. The facilities and equipment met people’s needs, were clean and well-maintained and any risks mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Everyone we spoke with without exception told us the staff were very kind and caring. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care. Staff managed medicines well and involved people in planning any changes.”
