“At this assessment some improvements had been made. The provider had improved assessments of people’s needs and had notified us appropriately of DoLS authorisations. However, we identified breaches of regulations relating to medicines management and risk management. There had been a lack of management oversight of constipation risks because systems had not been embedded to review bowel charts for people who suffered with constipation. We also identified a breach of regulation in relation to governance at the service. Staff had attended safeguarding training and understood their responsibilities to report any safeguarding concerns. We observed there was enough staff on shift to support people. The building had been maintained, during the assessment we identified some further repairs, these were actioned by the registered manager. People’s rooms were personalised. Before people moved into the service their needs were assessed. Staff worked with health professionals to ensure people got the care and support they needed. The provider had systems and processes in place to promote and support staff wellbeing.”
