“Date of assessment 22 May to 10 June. Downhurst Residential Home Limited is a residential care home providing care to older people some of whom were living with dementia. The home can accommodate up to 25 people in one building. At the time of our inspection 17 people were living at the home. We carried out this assessment due to information of concerns we had received about the service. We looked at quality statements in the safe, caring and well-led key questions.”

“We spoke with 5 people and 1 relative. We spoke with 5 staff including the registered manager. We reviewed records including care plans for 8 people and recruitment files for 3 staff. Following our visit on site we reviewed a range of service records including, staff training and supervision matrix, accident and incident logs, complaints and safeguarding logs and policies/procedures.”
