The inspection record

Rated Good overall. Report published 12 May 2026.

“Silverberry Care Kenilworth is a domiciliary care agency which is registered to provide personal care and support to people in their own homes. The service is registered to provide support to children between the ages of 4 and 18, adults under the age of 65 years, adults over 65 years, people living with dementia, people with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities.”

“This was the first inspection of this registered service. We spoke with relatives where people were unable to speak with us due to their health conditions. We also spoke with care staff, the registered manager and care co-ordinator.”

“At the time of this inspection, we were told 12 people received a personal care service. There were other people receiving support with tasks that were not classed as personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.”

“We identified that the provider had supported 1 person with a learning disability with personal care, which was outside of the service’s registration conditions. While the person’s needs were being met and their relative expressed satisfaction with the care, the provider had not notified CQC or completed the required process to amend their registration. This demonstrated some weaknesses in oversight and regulatory compliance.”

“We found some records were not sufficiently detailed to ensure staff could easily access information they needed to support consistent safe care. Despite this staff knew people well and were able to describe the care they provided. They spoke positively of working for the service and felt supported in their role.”

“Risks to people's health had been identified and staff understood their role in keeping people safe. The registered manager described how they aimed to ensure people received support from a consistent staff team. They worked with external health and social care professionals when appropriate to help support people’s health and wellbeing and to maintain continuity of care.”

“The registered manager had systems to check the quality of the service. However, the providers audit processes were not always clear in terms of identifying the issues for action they had found, and the responses taken. This was important to demonstrate provider oversight of the service was effective and the quality of the service was being maintained. Checks were in place to ensure staff followed the providers policies and procedures including best practice in relation to infection prevention and control. Staff received ongoing training to ensure they could meet people’s needs safely, this included medicine administration training.”
