The inspection record

Rated Good overall. Report published 21 May 2026.

“Date of inspection: 3 February to 17 February 2026. Caring Care is a domiciliary care service providing personal care to people living in their own homes. At the time of our inspection the service was supporting 354 people with the regulated activity of personal care.”

“The provider had systems and processes to review and monitor the safety and quality of care. Staff understood the safeguarding procedures in place and felt confident concerns would be acted upon by management. Staff were recruited safely and received training and supervision to support them in their roles. Staff understood people’s needs and could describe risks associated with any health conditions. People were protected and kept safe as staff understood their roles and managed risks. There were processes in place for people to speak up if they had any concerns. External professionals described communication as effective and reported good joint working across complex packages of care.”

“Although the Mental Capacity Act was understood and appropriate systems were established, its application lacked consistency. Most care plans were detailed and tailored to people’s needs, but a few required further personalisation, especially for those people with complex health needs. Not all care plans and risk assessment were updated when an incident occurred. However, the provider took prompt action and addressed all concerns identified. Where changes were required to people’s planned times or duration of visit at short notice, these were accommodated.”

“This service was registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, 2 people with a learning disability or autism were in receipt of personal care but this was not their primary need. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it was registered as a specialist service for this population group and we found the provider met the required standards for delivering this care. This guidance supported judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence and access to local communities that most people take for granted.”

“Overall, people experienced personalised care and reliable support. The service demonstrated strong values, good communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The provider engaged well with local partners and community groups, building positive links.”
