“Date of Assessment: 18 March to 28 April 2026. The service is a residential home providing support to older people, people with physical disabilities and people living with a dementia. This assessment was carried out because of the length of time since our last visit.”

“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disabilityrespect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the providerhad regard to ‘Right support, right care, right culture’.”

“Since our last assessment improvements had been made in relation to infection prevention and control (IPC) practice and medicines management. However, governance processes were still not consistently identifying or addressing issues at the service. An issue with the safety and condition of the premises that had been first identified in 2022 had not been addressed by the time of this visit. The provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to governance processes.”

“People were safeguarded from abuse. Staff were supported with regular training, supervision and appraisal. Risks to people were assessed and addressed.”

“People’s needs and choices were monitored to ensure they received effective support. Care plans contained information on people's capacity and consent to their care which helped to ensure their rights were protected. Staff worked effectively with healthcare partners to ensure people received the support they wanted and needed.”

“People were treated with kindness by staff who knew them well. Care was provided in a way that protected people’s dignity and treated them with respect. Staff spoke positively about the support they received from managers and said they were happy working at the service.”

“People received personalised support based on their assessed needs and preferences. Information was made available to people in the most accessible formats possible. People were supported to maintain social links and access activates they enjoyed.”

“Staff felt able to speak up with any issues they had and felt supported in their roles. Feedback was sought and acted on. The service worked with the local community to deliver effective care.”
