“We carried out this inspection due to the age of the rating. This was a comprehensive inspection covering all key questions and quality statements.”

“At the time of the inspection, the service was providing support to some older autistic people and people with a learning disability. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the provider was delivering care in line with these principles.”

“At the last inspection, this service was rated good. At this inspection, we have found the service remained good.”

“There were enough staff available to meet people’s needs. Staff knew people well and understood how they liked to be supported. People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity and responded to people in a timely way. People had enough to eat and drink to stay healthy. Staff monitored people’s health to support healthy living. The provider worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving between services. People had choice in their care and were encouraged to maintain relationships with family and friends.”

“Leaders were visible, knowledgeable and supportive. Staff were treated equally, free from bullying or harassment. Staff understood their roles and responsibilities and felt supported and valued. Staff and leaders demonstrated a positive, shared vision for the service.”

“However, we identified some concerns with the condition of the fixtures and fittings within the building. This meant infection prevention and control measures were not always effective. We also found environmental safety monitoring and checks on facilities required strengthening. The provider responded promptly to our findings, taking immediate action to make improvements. The management team demonstrated a commitment to making continuous improvements in the service to ensure people received good care.  ”
