“Date of Assessment: 5 January 2026 to 23 January 2026. The service is a nursing home providing support to older people, some of whom were living with dementia and physical disabilities. The home can accommodate 48 people; at the time of the inspection there were 36 people living at the service. This assessment was in response to CQC receiving information of concern. At the last inspection the provider was in breach of regulations relating to governance. At this inspection the provider had made the required improvements, and they were no longer in breach of the regulations. The provider had systems in place to support safe transitions into the service. Safeguarding procedures were in place and followed by staff. Risks to people’s safety were assessed and plans put in place to reduce these. Medicines were administered safely. Environmental risks were assessed and checks were in place to ensure peoples safety, including the infection prevention control systems. Systems were in place to learn when things went wrong. People had support to access health professional advice and staff worked collaboratively to support people. People had support to achieve their outcomes and staff understood how to seek consent and make decisions in people’s best interests. Staff were kind and caring and supported people to maintain their independence. People had their privacy protected and were supported as individuals. Staff were supported and the provider had systems in place to ensure people, staff and others were supported in line with their equality and diversity policy. People felt listened to and were confident with the support from the management team. The provider had systems in place to check the quality of the service. However, some improvements were needed to improve people’s experiences of care at the service. Staff were not consistently available at the times people needed their support. People did not consistently make choices as there were limitations due to staffing levels and this also meant staff were not consistently able to respond immediately to people’s needs. People did not consistently have their individual preferences observed and people did not consistently feel involved in driving improvements.”
