The Belmont

“Date of assessment: 23 September to 8 October 2025. The Belmont is a residential care home providing support to older people and younger adults some of whom were living with dementia, physical disabilities or sensory impairment. At the time of our assessment there were 69 people living at the service. The assessment was carried out to review concerns regarding standards of care. We found overall people were well cared for and people felt safe. The provider had embedded a culture of learning. Staff told us they felt supported to carry out their role and were able to raise concerns and suggestions, they were confident their concerns would be heard and acted upon. We found risks could be managed better. Records did not always contain enough detail to guide staff on how to manage and monitor risks. Governance systems were in place; however, they were not always effective in identifying shortfalls.”
