“S E L F Limited -14 Park View is a care home providing personal care for up to 9 people living with a learning disability or autistic people. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The inspection started on 31 October and ended on 19 November 2024 and 9 people lived at the home. We looked at 11 quality statements. The registered manager had introduced a level management structure, which meant everyone was encouraged to support the development of the service. This led to staff and people producing presentations around how to provide the best care and to everyone contributing to the development of the service. People being more active in their care and support had led to a change in their perspective and a desire to become even more independent. The registered manager actively promoted an approach where people were truly respected and valued as individuals and empowered to be partners in their care. Staff went above and beyond to support people reach their full potential. They treated people as individuals and considered all aspects of people’s life goals when developing support plans. People’s needs were assessed before they came to use the service. Staff understood the requirements of the MCA and submitted deprivation of liberty safeguards as required. The provider had safeguarding systems in place. The registered manager and staff were very conscious of all aspects of their responsibilities to safeguard people whilst supporting individuals to live in the least restrictive environment possible. Risks were assessed and action taken to mitigate any risks. Recruitment practices were meeting requirements. There were enough staff to deliver the care and support people needed.”
