“Date of assessment: 17 June to 6 July 2026”

“Regency Park is a 'care home'. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing and/or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement, depending on their registration with us. Regency Park is a care home without nursing care. CQC regulates both the premises and the care provided, and both were assessed during this assessment. At the time of the assessment, the service was supporting three people.”

“We assessed the service against the principles of 'Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture' to make judgements about whether the provider ensured autistic people and people with a learning disability were treated with respect, equality, and dignity, and had choice, independence, and access to their local community.”

“Medicines were not always managed safely. We identified that medicines were not always administered in line with prescribing instructions. For example, one medicines that should have been given on an empty stomach was not always administered correctly, and one medicine requiring titration had not been managed in accordance with prescribing guidance.”

“Care plans and risk assessments were in place and provided staff with guidance on how to support people safely. However, some care plans required updating to reflect changes in people's needs and circumstances.”

“Communication aids were used to support person-centred care. Staff knew people well and involved people and, where appropriate, their relatives in care planning. People were encouraged to develop their independence, make choices, and take positive risks. Significant changes in people's lives were planned for in advance to help them prepare and understand what to expect. This included supporting people through important transitions, such as leaving college.”

“People had individual goals and outcomes in place, which were regularly reviewed to ensure they remained relevant and meaningful.”

“The service worked effectively with health and social care professionals, and referrals were made in a timely manner when required to support people's health and wellbeing.”

“The provider was in breach of regulations relating to safe care and treatment including the management of medicines.  ”
