“We found care plans and risk assessments did not always contain sufficient or up-to-date information to support the delivery of safe care. Risks to people had not been consistently identified or mitigated. People did not always receive their medicines safely. Systems and records were not always sufficiently robust to demonstrate risks to people’s health and safety were effectively monitored. Fire safety concerns were not identified. People were not always treated with dignity and respect. Governance systems in place failed to identify the concerns found during the assessment. The provider was open to feedback and had already started to address the concerns raised.”

“We found staff were safely recruited, received appropriate training and followed correct procedures for infection prevention and control, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The provider was transparent with sharing concerns to the local authority. Incidents were investigated and complaints managed with outcomes communicated to those involved. The provider worked in collaboration with partners to successfully reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and falls reductions.”
