“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”

“The environment was pleasantly decorated and was clean. There were sufficient staffing levels within the service and safe recruitment systems were in place. Staff felt they could raise concerns.”

“Staff supported people in a kind and dignified way. We observed positive interactions between staff and people.”

“People had access to nutritious home cooked food and mealtimes were unrushed and relaxed. People were supported to access routine medical appointments when needed.”

“The provider worked collaboratively with other health professionals to support people. Health professionals reported no concerns.”

“Care plans were appropriately tailored to individuals’ preferences and needs. However, some care records required more information to ensure staff could support people more effectively and incidents were not always appropriately reported.”

“Focus was needed to strengthen governance and audit processes in identifying risk to people, however, the registered manager and the wider management team was responsive to any feedback we gave during the assessment.”
