“Assessments were completed prior to people’s admission, to ensure the home was suitable and could meet their needs. People were supported to stay well, with ongoing access to a range of medical professionals. The provider sought people’s consent and ensured they adhered to the Mental Capacity Act, when making decisions for people who lacked capacity. People’s nutritional and hydration needs were met, with modified diets provided in line with professional guidance. Monitoring of care was completed consistently.”

“People spoke positively about the care provided and the staff who supported them. People said they were offered choice, encouraged to do things for themselves and were treated with dignity. Overall, people and relatives were complimentary about activity provision, with those who regularly took part enjoying what was offered.”

“People’s care records were detailed and explained how they wanted to be supported. People’s views were sought through regular meetings. However, more work was needed to ensure people received ongoing feedback on any changes made based on their views and suggestions. People received kind and compassionate end of life care, from staff who had been trained and were supported by other professionals, such as district nurses and the local hospice.”

“People, relatives and staff told us the home was well run, and they would happily recommend it. The home had a clear management structure, who were reported to be approachable and always available. A range of audits and monitoring processes were used to identify issues and drive improvements. The provider worked well with external professionals and had made a number of links with local schools and community groups, who visited and took part in activities with people.”
