Hazelwood Care Home

“Date of assessment: 14 May 2025 to 23 May 2025. Hazelwood Care home is a care home with nursing for older people and people living with dementia. The assessment was triggered by some concerns we had received around people’s care and treatment. At the time of the inspection there were 44 people living at Hazelwood Care home. People were safeguarded from harm and abuse because the registered manager had effective processes in place. People’s health risk’s were mostly well managed, however we found that pressure relieving equipment, such as pressure reliving mattresses, were not always set to the correct setting for people’s weights. This was addressed and actioned by the registered manager to reduce the risk of occurrence. Other health risks such as diabetes were well managed.”

“We found that people’s emergency evacuation plans were not always up to date, however this was rectified as soon as we informed the registered manager. Other building safety checks were completed and up to date.”
