“We carried out this assessment between 3 August and 11 September 2026.”

“This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard.”

“People were supported by enough staff who had the skills and knowledge to support them safely. Risks were assessed thoroughly and control measures to minimise such risks were in place. There were effective systems in place to safeguard people from abuse. Medicines were administered safely and there were systems in place to ensure the environment was safe. Staff completed training appropriate to their role and received regular and effective supervision. Staff described feeling well supported by visible and approachable leaders. A staff member said, “I believe the home is well managed. If any issues are raised, then they get dealt with efficiently.””

“The provider assessed and reviewed people’s health, wellbeing, care and communication needs to ensure care and treatment remained effective. Care was planned and delivered with people, reflecting what mattered to them and following relevant legislation and evidence-based practice. The provider monitored care outcomes to drive continuous improvement and ensure positive, consistent experiences. People’s rights around consent were understood and respected.”

“People can only be deprived of their liberty to receive care and treatment with appropriate legal authority. In care homes, this can be done through a procedure called the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), which is part of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). We checked whether the service was working within the principles of the MCA and how they managed DoLS within the service. We found that staff and management worked within the MCA. DoLS authorisations were appropriately applied for and overseen. People were not subject to unlawful or excessive restrictions; they had choice, control and freedom over their lives. A staff member told us, “We work as a team to provide quality care. All the care is given with people’s consent and we maintain privacy and dignity at all times.””

“Staff provided care with kindness, compassion and empathy, while respecting people’s privacy and dignity. Staff promoted people’s independence where safe and appropriate, and people’s views about their care, treatment and wellbeing were respected.”

“Care plans were person-centred, reflected people’s needs and how they wanted to be cared for, and captured what was important to the person. People were encouraged to share feedback, ideas and complaints, and were kept informed about changes made as a result. Staff and leaders identified and addressed potential inequalities, supporting equal rights and positive outcomes for all people using the service.”

“The provider had a clear vision and values that promoted openness, inclusion, good quality care and respect for people's rights. Leaders had clear responsibilities and effective systems were in place. Leaders used information about risks, performance and outcomes to make improvements. Learning, new ideas and continuous improvement were encouraged and supported to continually improve the service help people achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life.”
