“Date of assessment: 22 October to 14 November 2025. Hampton Manor is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care to older people, including those living with dementia. This assessment included all the quality statements under each of the 5 key questions.”
“This assessment was prompted in part by concerns reported to CQC about staffing levels, over reliance on agency staff, staff training and a lack of appropriate care for people with pressure damage. We did not find these concerns were substantiated.”

“We also conducted this assessment as the service was unrated. This was the first assessment of this service since it was first registered with CQC on 19 April 2024. Visits to the service took place on 22 and 27 October 2025.Staff were knowledgeable about people’s individual needs and risks and how to keep them safe. There were enough staff to meet people’s needs in a timely way. Systems and processes were in place to assess risks to people and ensure they were safeguarded from avoidable harm. Staff completed safeguarding training and knew how to raise concerns. The administration of medicines was mostly safe, but some records around ‘when required’ medicines and prescribed creams required improvement.”
“Staff were mostly recruited in a safe way, however records of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks regarding barred list status required improvement. Records relating to agency staff also required minor improvements.”
“Staff followed safe infection prevention and control practices and used personal protective equipment (PPE) to help prevent the spread of infections. People and relatives told us the home was clean and well maintained.”
“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible. The policies and systems in the service supported this practice.”
“Care was person-centred with staff supporting people to make choices, maintain independence and access healthcare services. Staff worked well together and promoted people to live healthier lives. Care plans were tailored to individual needs, although some lacked detail regarding personal care preferences.”
“Staff supported people in a compassionate and caring way and respected their decisions and choices. Staff supported people to take part in a range of activities to support their emotional, physical and social needs.”
“A staff member said, “Things have improved a lot in the last few months. You can go to the manager and deputy about anything and they will listen. The operations manager and owner are here often and are willing to help.””
“Areas of minor improvement identified during this assessment were responded to either during the assessment or immediately afterwards. The provider and management team demonstrated their responsiveness to our feedback and a desire to continually improve the service.”
