“Date of assessment: 21 July 2026 to 5 August 2026. Carr Croft is a care home providing accommodation for people who require personal care. At the time of this assessment 26 people were living at the home.”
“The assessment was carried out due to concerns we received in relation to staffing levels, frequent falls, lack of activities and weight loss.”

“During our assessment, we identified breaches of legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment, safeguarding people from the risk of abuse and neglect and good governance.”
“People’s care plans and risk assessments did not always contain sufficient detail to support staff to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care. Risks to people’s health and safety were not consistently assessed, and appropriate action was not always taken to mitigate identified risks.”
“People were not always supported to lead fulfilling lives. There was little evidence that people were being supported with meaningful social and recreational activities that met their needs.”
“Governance systems were not consistently effective. Oversight processes had not identified areas for improvement within people’s care plans, risk assessments or the environment, indicating gaps in the provider’s ongoing governance and oversight. Although the provider carried out some audits, these had not detected the concerns identified during this assessment.”
