“Staff involved people and encouraged them in their independence and interests. There was a wide-ranging programme of events and activities, including special events tailored to individual wishes and interests. Relatives and staff spoke enthusiastically about the ‘Namaste care’ programme introduced to support people living with dementia, saying it had improved people’s wellbeing, reduced restlessness and increased engagement.”

“Risks in people’s care had been assessed and were regularly reviewed. Staff were quick to identify any changes or deterioration in a person’s health or wellbeing and to seek support.”

“There were clear systems to underpin a proactive culture of safety and feedback was encouraged. Where areas for improvement had been identified, these had been introduced and closely monitored to ensure they were embedded into practice.”
