“We carried out this assessment 25 March 2025 to 4 April 2025. The service is a residential care home providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. There were 8 people living in the home at the time of our inspection. We inspected this service due to receiving information of concern relating to people’s care. We inspected 26 quality statements.”

“The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulations in relation to person centred care, staffing, safe care and treatment and good governance. Some improvements were found at this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations in relation to person centred care and staffing.”

“However, we identified continued breaches of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and good governance. We found shortfalls in to fire safety, infection, prevention and control and medicines management. The provider had identified most of the concerns we found but had not taken prompt remedial action to ensure people’s safety. A new manager was in post and the provider started taking action during our inspection to make improvements.”

“People’s needs were assessed and reviewed. People were supported to have choice and control in some areas and could give feedback on their care. Staff were trained to raise and respond to safeguarding concerns. People were supported by staff who knew them well and treated them with kindness and respect.”

“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people did not always receive care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.”

“In instances where CQC have decided to take civil enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations have been concluded.”

“We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns relating to fire safety, infection prevention and control, and medicines management found at this assessment.”
