“Dates of assessment: 1 to 13 October 2025. This included 2 onsite visits to the service on 1 and 2 October 2025, one of which was outside of normal working hours. Beckly House is a care home for people specialising in providing care and support to people with learning disabilities. The service can accommodate up to 12 people in an adapted building consisting of 2 units. At the time of the assessment there were 9 people living in the service. The service demonstrated a clear commitment to the principles of Right support, right care, right culture. People received personalised care that promoted choice, independence, and inclusion. Staff supported individuals in ways that respected their rights and helped them to achieve personal goals and access their communities. People were supported safely, with detailed and person-centred risk assessments in place. Care plans were regularly reviewed and reflected individual needs and preferences. Staff understood how to support people to manage risks without unnecessarily limiting their independence. Medicines were managed safely, with only minor improvements needed to documentation and no evidence of harm. The home was clean, safe, and welcoming, with personalised bedrooms and accessible communal areas. Infection prevention and control measures were in place and staff followed appropriate procedures. There were enough staff on duty to meet people’s needs, including one-to-one support where required. Staff were kind, respectful, and knew people well. They helped individuals maintain relationships, pursue interests, and access the wider community. Staff received robust training and specialist learning relevant to the people they supported. Leaders were visible and promoted a strong, person-centred culture. Governance systems were effective at identifying improvements, and learning was shared across the provider group. People benefited from staff who felt confident to speak up and advocate for high standards of care.  ”
