“Staff provided safe care which was person-centred and supported people’s quality of life, choice and independence. This brought good outcomes to people, both in relation to people’s health and general wellbeing. Staff had identified when people needed to be referred to health professionals and this had been sought in a timely way. The management team, especially the registered manager of the service, had made improvements since the last inspection in relation to care planning and introducing a new system to ensure all details of people living in the home were up to date. Equality and diversity were promoted in the service. The provider mostly had policies, procedures and governance systems which were effectively used in the service to drive continuous improvement. With the only exception of medicine audits not highlighting our concerns, however, additional governance systems were put in place to directly address medicines following our first day of inspection.”
