Here to make finding home care a little easier
Finding the right support at home is not always straightforward. Information can be scattered across regulator reports, provider websites and different parts of the care system. We bring it together in one place, so you can understand your options and make a more informed decision.
Browse every regulated home care provider in the UK, compare the details that matter, bookmark providers to come back to and enquire when you are ready. You will also find practical guides to help you understand the different types of home care, what to look for and what to ask before choosing a provider.
Everything on YourCareHome is free for care seekers: searching, browsing, bookmarking and enquiring, and always will be.
We hope we can make the process a little clearer and help you find the right support for you or someone you care about.
Care that comes to you.
From an hour a week to round-the-clock live-in support.
Personal care at home
Help with washing, dressing, medication and meals from visiting carers. It is the most common form of home care, and one a provider must be registered to deliver.
Live-in care
A carer lives in your home full-time, an alternative to a residential move that keeps someone in familiar surroundings.
Nursing care at home
Registered nurses delivering clinical care at home, for complex conditions, often alongside NHS community services.
Companionship & home help
Company, errands, cleaning and cooking. Purely domestic help isn’t regulated. A provider only has to register once personal care is involved, so always check which kind you’re buying.
Guidance worth reading first.
How home care is inspected, and when a care home is the better answer.
What do home-care ratings mean?
England’s CQC inspects home-care agencies on the same scale it uses for care homes. Scotland grades services from unsatisfactory to excellent; Wales and Northern Ireland publish inspection reports rather than a single-word rating. Every provider we list will show its own regulator’s verdict, never our score.
Home care or a care home?
Home care suits someone who is safe at home between visits, from an hour a week upwards. Once someone needs supervision around the clock, a care home is usually more realistic, and often costs less, than 24-hour care at home. Many families use a short respite stay to test the move before deciding.
Run a home-care service?
Every regulated provider is already listed, free, built from the regulators’ own records, exactly as we do for care homes. Claiming your listing works the same way: keep your details right, answer enquiries and show your true capacity.
Nothing to sign up to. Listings are created from the official registers automatically.
