We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.”

“People experienced positive outcomes because staff fully understood their needs. People were respected and valued as individuals and were empowered to be fully involved in their care. Staff and managers understood their duty to safeguard people from potential harm and people's risk of experiencing avoidable harm were reduced by the provider's risk assessments and risk management plans. People were enabled to maintain their independence, had choices regarding the service they received and were asked for feedback regularly.”
