“There were robust systems in place regarding governance and oversight within the service. Care documentation was person centred, giving reference to people’s individual needs, likes and preferences. The provider ensured there were safe systems in place to ensure safe transition between services, such as, use of hospitals passports. The provider safely managed areas of risk including involvement of relevant professionals such as the local authority, or health colleagues. The environment was safely managed through regular maintenance and fire checks. Medications were also safely managed. Professionals provided consistent positive feedback regarding staff’s ability to work well with other services, to promote better outcomes for people. People’s immediate needs were responded to, and recruitment processes were well managed. People were provided with information to make decisions about their care, including in an easy read format. The provider gave opportunity for people and staff to provide feedback to drive improvement.”

“ ”

“The provider did not always support people to access activities which were important to them, however they did plan to address this following our feedback. The provider had identified values which they wanted to achieve, this was not embedded throughout the service yet. Changes were being made to support this through staff supervision.”

“Care records did not effectively record accidents, incidents and safeguarding incidents. Care interventions were not consistency recorded to effectively monitor outcomes. People did not always feel their views were heard or actioned in relation to their care. Following feedback, the provider said these areas will be addressed including meeting with people to discuss further how they can improve in listening to and involving people in their care.”
