“MELM Care Solutions is a supported living service across 3 separate buildings for up to 11 adults with mental health conditions and dementia. There was one person receiving regulated care at the time of this assessment. We completed this assessment due to concerns we received about the management of risk and the standard of care people received. We completed the assessment between 17 April and 3 May 2024. As this was the first assessment at this service, we considered all of our key questions and quality statements. We visited the service on 2 occasions during the assessment process, and gathered feedback remotely from people’s relatives and health and social care professionals who knew the service. During this assessment we identified shortfalls in relation to infection prevention and control, assessing people’s mental capacity, the management of people’s finances, and the providers quality assurance and oversight systems and processes.”
