“The service assessed and reviewed people’s needs regularly. Staff supported people to eat and drink as per their wishes. Staff monitored people's health and wellbeing closely, and escalated concerns promptly. People had agreed to their care plan and staff sought their consent before providing care.”

“Staff collaborated with people, their relatives and health and social care professionals with the aim to provide good quality, person-centred care. The service responded to people's changing needs[EW1] promptly and effectively. Staff offered people choices and supported them to maintain their independence as much as possible. Care plans contained clear instructions for staff on how to support people.”

“The provider ensured staff received appropriate support and guidance. Managers investigated complaints thoroughly and took necessary actions to ensure people were satisfied with their care. They maintained effective oversight of the service. They monitored several aspects affecting people’s care and carried out regular quality assurance checks and audits, taking timely action to ensure safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Leaders, including office staff, were approachable, supportive and responsive to the needs of people using the service, as well as staff.”

“However, we identified some areas where improvements were needed. While the service conducted the required checks to make sure staff were recruited safely, there were gaps in staff employment histories. Not every notifiable incident had been reported to CQC. The provider took our feedback onboard and immediately began addressing these concerns.”

“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”
