The inspection record

Rated Good overall. Report published 25 June 2026.

“Dates of assessment:23 April 2026 to 11 June 2026. Jays Healthcare Limited is a domiciliary care agency, providing care and support for people living in their own homes. At the time of our assessment the service was supporting 9 people with personal care, under their Homecare registration. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. We inspected this service because the last rating was dated.”

“The service had a positive learning culture, with staff open to discussing safety concerns and using lessons learned to improve practice. Safe systems supported well‑planned transitions, safeguarding procedures were effective, and people felt safe. Risks were regularly assessed, the environment was monitored, and staffing levels, recruitment and training ensured people received consistent, safe care. Infection control and medicines management were robust, supported by auditing processes.”

Staff worked effectively with external professionals to ensure coordinated care, and people were supported to maintain their health, wellbeing and independence. Outcomes were routinely monitored, and feedback informed improvements. Consent was respected, although mental capacity assessments and best‑interest decisions were not always recorded when required.”

“People consistently experienced kindness, compassion and respect. Staff understood individuals’ backgrounds, preferences and protected characteristics, promoting independence, dignity and choice. Care was well coordinated, communication needs were met in line with the Accessible Information Standard, and people and relatives felt confident raising concerns. The service promoted equitable access and ensured staff were trained in equality and diversity.”

“The service had a strong, shared culture based on transparency, inclusion and respect for people’s rights. Leadership was compassionate, credible and supportive, with staff describing an open environment where they felt valued and able to speak up. Governance arrangements were effective, with clear oversight, regular audits and quality monitoring. The service worked well with external partners and demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and improvement, supported by a structured improvement plan.”
