“On 21 May 2026, we gathered telephone feedback from people and their relatives and undertook a remote review of documents.”

“People were supported by consistent, kind and well-trained staff, who knew them well. The provider operated a safe recruitment process, and a comprehensive training programme was in place. Staff received regular supervision and felt supported.”

“People’s needs were assessed prior to joining the service. This information was used to create care plans. Environmental risks were identified and mitigated. However, associated health risks had not always been recognised. This was addressed by the registered manager.”

“The service worked with external healthcare professionals to ensure people received join-up care. Medicines were managed safely. People received their medicines as prescribed and as they wished.”

“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. The policies and systems in the service supported this practice.”

“Staff and the management team worked well together, there was a strong ‘team’ ethos.”

“There were comprehensive systems in place to monitor the quality of care provided, including spot checks, staff competency assessments, and regular audits of medication practices and care records. Systems were in place to record and analyse safeguarding concerns. Whilst safeguarding concerns were referred to Local Authority safeguarding team, information was not always sent to other authorities who needed it. The registered manager addressed this immediately.”

“Quality assurance systems for the running of the service were effective. The registered manager had already identified further opportunities to improve the quality and monitoring of the service. People, relatives and staff were regularly asked for feedback. The provider had established systems for managing complaints and demonstrated compliance with the duty of candour.”
