“We carried out this assessment from 26 to 28 May 2026. Caremix is a care at home service providing personal care to older people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. At the time of the assessment, 1 person was using the service and receiving personal care from the service.”
“Recruitment practices were not robust, which meant there was a risk that appropriate pre-employment checks were not consistently completed. Governance systems had not identified or addressed these concerns in a timely way. However, systems were in place to support people safely, including risk assessments, environmental checks and incident reporting processes. Staff were trained and understood how to manage risks such as falls, infection prevention and control and medicines., There was also evidence of learning from complaints and incidents.”

“People received personalised and effective care that met their needs. Assessments and care planning were comprehensive, and involved people, with adapted in response to changes in health. Communication systems supported continuity of care, and there were positive partnerships with families. The service monitored people’s wellbeing and feedback indicated people’s needs were met.”
“The service was caring and responsive, with consistent staffing supporting continuity and positive relationships. People were involved in decisions and supported to maintain control over their daily lives. Leaders promoted a person-centred culture, and staff felt supported and able to raise concerns. However, improvements were needed to governance and quality assurance systems to ensure robust oversight and sustained improvement.”
