“During our assessment we found leaders had established a clear vision for the service and a culture based on values of kindness, dignity and reliability. Care was designed and delivered around people’s lives and preferences. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability, respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. Leaders demonstrated an understanding of their responsibilities.”

“People were kept safe by staff who had good knowledge of their responsibilities to protect people from harm or abuse. Staff knew the signs to recognise abuse and the procedure to report any concerns. Risks to people were identified, assessed and plans were put in place to ensure risks were minimised and people were supported to stay safe. People received their medicines as prescribed where this was part of their plan, and the management of medicines was safe.”

“Appropriate recruitment checks were completed and there was enough staff available to meet people’s care and support needs. People’s needs were assessed, and support was provided that met their individual requirements. The culture within the service was open and focused on delivering good quality care that strived to achieved positive outcomes for people.”
