“Advantage Healthcare – Nottingham is ahomecare service. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes. There was11 people using the service who were receiving a regulated activity of personal care.”

“Who the service is for”

“The service provided care and support to people of all ages living in their own homes, including those with complex health needs, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions.Key findingsWe carried out this assessment between 18 August 2026 and 28 August 2026. This service was previously rated as good. We carried out this assessment to confirm whether the rating of good remains accurate. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.”

“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities most people take for granted. We were assured the service provided care in line with this guidance.”

“Right Support: People were supported to lead their lives in their chosen way and supported to access meaningful activities in the home and local community. Staff involved them, or their families, in decisions and planning any changes to their care.”

“Independence was encouraged and supported. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. Staff described how they promoted independence in a person-centred way. For example, one staff member said, “I give information in a way [people] can understand, allow them time to communicate and never make decisions for them simply because something may be easier or quicker for me. I use a person-centred approach and promote independence wherever it is safe to do so. I support them to make informed choices rather than automatically doing things for them.””

“People were kept safe. Staff understood and managed risk while supporting people to take part in a range of activities in their local community and beyond, we were informed about how staff supported people to other countries, which demonstrated a positive risk-taking approach. People were supported by small teams of staff who knew them well.”

“Right Care:”

“People were treated with kindness and compassion and received dignified care that respected their privacy and human rights. Care and support was person centred. Individualised care and support plans were in place that enabled staff to provide person led, outcome focussed, and safe care. People’s preferred communication style was known and respected.”

“Right Culture:”

“The ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of leaders and care and nursing staff ensured people supported led meaningful and inclusive lives. Staff and managers had shared values which were based on people receiving dignified support from compassionate staff to empower them to be as independent as possible. A healthcare professional who worked alongside the service described them as “well-organised client focused organisation.” However; some staff did feedback that they did not always feel supported by office staff and felt communication could be improved.”
