“The Springs Care Home provides accommodation and nursing care for a maximum of 65 older people living with dementia. Care is provided to people over three separate floors, with the ground floor providing residential support and the two upper floors provide nursing support. At the time of our inspection there were 50 people living at the home. The service was last inspected on 19 October 2021 and 03 November 2021, with an overall rating of requires improvement. This assessment was prompted in part due to concerns received about safe care and treatment of people, a decision was made for us to assess and examine those risks. This assessment commenced on 12 March 2024 and the overall rating remains at requires improvement. We identified shortfalls with medicines, person centred care, safe environments and leadership and governance. There was a peripatetic manager in post during our visit, a new manager had been appointed. At this assessment, we looked at 24 quality statements.”
