“Date of assessment: 11 November 2025 to 4 December 2025.”

“Rose Tree House is a care home registered for accommodation for people who require nursing or personal care. “The assessment was prompted due to concerns about care provision, medicines management, staffing, the premises and management approach.”

“Some aspects of nutritional support and menu planning required improvement to meet best practice standards. For example, in relation to altered consistency meals and modified diets.”

“Medicines were administered safely; however, some PRN (as required medicine) protocols were not in place on the electronic system, and the outcome of administration was not always recorded, body maps were not fully in place for topical applications (creams), and the storage of returned medicines was not always secure.”

“Quality assurance systems were in place, and the above actions in relation to medicines had been noted across several audits but did not always lead to timely action.”

“The registered manager responded positively to feedback, implementing changes during the inspection and there was no evidence anyone had come to harm.”

“There was a positive culture of openness and learning, with lessons learned shared across the staff team and the wider organisation.”

“Care plans were person-centred and reviewed regularly. People and their relatives were involved in decisions about their care. End-of-life care was planned sensitively, and initiatives such as memory lane coffee mornings supported relatives after bereavement.”

“Systems for safeguarding, risk management, and infection prevention were in place, and staff received regular training to maintain competence. There was effective communication with health care professionals and relatives which ensured continuity of care.”

“Leadership was visible and inclusive. Staff described management as approachable and supportive. Equality and diversity were promoted, and the provider had received external recognition for inclusion initiatives.”
