“At the time of the inspection there were 7 people living at the home. The service is a residential care home providing support to people with a learning disabilityand autistic people.”

“We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”

“ ”

“The last rating for this service was requires improvement (published 19 March 2020).”

“ ”

“We undertook this assessment to review progress made since our last assessment and to follow up on previous breaches of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment, fit and proper persons employed and good governance. At this assessment, improvements had been made, and the provider was no longer in breach of regulation. The provider had improved medicines management and governance systems were more effective. At the last assessment the service was rated as requires improvement in all areas. At this assessment the rating has improved to good. We looked at all the quality statements.”

“ ”

“The service had an established registered manager who was proactive in delivering high quality and person-centred care. Staff and relatives felt they were able raise concerns as the registered manager was open and approachable. Staff were knowledgeable of people’s care needs as they knew the people well. People were encouraged to take positive risks in their day to day lives, staff assessed these risks appropriately. People were treated with kindness and supported to meet their individual needs.”
