“We undertook this assessment to review an aged related rating. Gregory House is a care home providing accommodation and personal care to up to 32 people. On the day of our visit there were 30 people living at the service. We visited the service on 2 occasions 15th January and 18th May 2026. The service demonstrated an exceptionally well-established and embedded culture of safety, driven by proactive, values-led leadership and a strong commitment to continuous learning. Governance systems were highly effective, enabling risks, incidents, and outcomes to be rigorously monitored, analysed, and used to sustain meaningful improvements. This included demonstrable enhancements in areas such as medicines management and a reduction in falls. Staff were fully engaged in reflective practice, fostering a mature, open, and learning-focused culture that consistently strengthened safety and improved outcomes for people.”

“People received consistently safe, seamless, and highly personalised care, underpinned by excellent partnership working with healthcare professionals. Care plans were exceptionally detailed, holistic, and evidence-based, enabling staff to anticipate risks and respond swiftly and effectively to changes in need. Safeguarding systems were robust and proactively applied, and the principles of the Mental Capacity Act were deeply embedded in everyday practice, ensuring people’s rights, choices, and freedoms were consistently upheld and promoted.”
