“We carried out an assessment looking at all quality statements to be able to provide an overall rating as this was the services first assessment under our new single assessment framework. Our decision to inspect the service was due to the age of the rating.”

“People were protected and kept safe. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience and staff received training and support to maintain good quality care. Staff managed medicines safely and people received their medicines safely, however, there had been some issues with a change of provider, which the registered manager was addressing. People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was delivered in line with people's needs. Care delivery we observed was person centred. Care plans were regularly reviewed, and people were referred to local healthcare services as required. Staff followed clinical guidance for people’s care and support. The registered manager had the skills, knowledge and experience to lead effectively; they did so with openness and honesty. The service had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. We identified some concerns with the environment, which the provider assured us was being improved. The redecoration of the care home had been approved and the service was waiting a start date. New kitchens and flooring were part of the provider’s home improvement action plan.”
