“We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”

“We carried out this assessment in response to concerns about poor care reported to the Care Quality Commission. At the last inspection the rating was good, at this assessment the rating has changed to requires improvement.”

“We identified 2 breaches of the legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Medicines were not managed safely due to poor stock control, unsafe storage and inconsistent recording of medication administration. Governance systems were not robust due to irregular incident reporting, a shortfall in equipment safety checks and incomplete records.”

“The design and layout of the property made it accessible for a person with a physical disability, with bedrooms personalised to the individual. People had the use of assistive technology to promote independence, autonomy and communication.”

“People had access to nutritious home cooked food and mealtimes were unrushed and relaxed. People were supported toaccess routine health screening andattend medical appointments when needed. Staff supported people in a kind and dignified way. We observed positive interactions between staff and people. The manager and the wider management teamwas responsive to any feedback we gave during the assessment.”

“We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.”
