“Date of assessment 16 December 2025 to 16 January 2026. The assessment was conducted to review the progress of the service since our last inspection in June 2023. The inspection team consisted of 3 inspectors, a specialist nurse and an expert by experience. At our last inspection we found 4 continued breaches of regulations. These were regarding how people’s safety and wellbeing were monitored, the training provided to staff, how people were protected from the risks of abuse and neglect and how effective the provider’s systems were in making sure people received good care.”

“At this assessment we found sufficient improvement had been made to the training provided to staff. This meant the service was no longer in breach in this area. However, we found 3 continued breaches regarding monitoring people’s safety and wellbeing, protecting people from the risk of abuse and neglect and how effective systems were at ensuring people received good care. In addition, we also found the service was in breach of regulation around seeking consent from people. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. The rating of the service has remained requires improvement overall.”

“We found hazards in the home environment which checks made by the management team had not identified. Some safeguarding concerns were not shared with external agencies in line with local agreements. Recording of incidents and accidents varied in quality and was not always detailed enough to inform analysis. This meant some opportunities for learning and reducing risk were missed. CCTV had been installed in the home without consulting and seeking the consent of the people living there. Systems to check on the safety and quality of care were not always effective.”

“Care plans were not always up to date and in the case of people’s specific health conditions, required more guidance for staff. However, overall, the quality of people’s care plans was improved and demonstrated their participation in their development. We saw good examples of kind and caring interactions between people and staff. People were offered a range of activities to help them engage and share experiences. People were supported to eat and drink well. People were supported by sufficient numbers of staff, who were recruited safely. Overall, the maintenance and décor in the home were improved.”

“In instances where CQC has begun a process of regulatory action, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward.”
