“High Meadows is a ‘care home’. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as a single package under one contractual agreement. High Meadows is a care home with nursing care for up to 45 older people. At the time of our assessment, 39 people were living at the service. CQC regulates both the premises as well as the care provided, and both were looked at during this assessment.”

“We conducted this assessment following concerns we received about the way the service was being managed. These concerns had been investigated by the local authority and provider and found to be unsubstantiated. However, we wanted to assure ourselves that people were receiving safe care and treatment and that the service was being well managed. We found people were well cared for and their needs were met. Staff felt well supported and had the information they needed to care for people safely. There were effective systems for monitoring and improving the quality of the service and external partners gave us positive feedback about their experiences.”
