“We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ (RSRCRC) guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”

“At our last inspection the service was in breach of 2 regulations of the Health and Social Care Act (2014) in relation to staffing levels and good governance. At this inspection the service had improved and is no longer in breach of any regulations. The service has improved from Requires improvement to Outstanding at this inspection.”

“The exemplary care and support people received from a truly kind and compassionate staff team had led to them having fantastic experiences and outcomes. Feedback from people and their relatives about the care and support they or their family member had was positive without exception. Staff fully understood and celebrated people as individuals, prioritising their strengths and supporting them to take positive risks to maximise the enjoyment of their lives. People were firmly at the centre of all the decisions relating to their lives and their support. Staff and the management team were creative and innovative in how they supported people to help them be as independent as they can be and to make sure whatever they chose to do would be supported to the best of their ability. Because of the incredibly supportive relationships staff had built with people, they responded to their changing support needs immediately, making sure the changes did not impact on people’s choices and the way in which they chose to live their lives. The registered manager at the service had fostered an extremely positive culture at the service which had been fully embraced and understood by the staff team. They understood the importance of doing all they could to deliver the best care possible to people. People, relatives and the staff team were empowered to have a voice and help shape the direction of the service at all times. The way in which staff supported, encouraged and made it easy for people to follow their interests meant people were truly seen and had become a part of their local community. The impact this had for people was incredibly positive and they had been supported to make and maintain relationships that meant a lot to them.”

“People were safe living at the service. Care plans and risk assessments gave guidance to staff about how to mitigate risks as far as possible. They also covered people’s support needs in good detail. There were enough trained and competent staff to support people safely, including with their medicines. Staff kept people’s home environment safe. People’s needs were assessed regularly. Staff linked and worked with other professionals to help people be healthy and have the right support. People were supported in line with the Mental Capacity Act (MCA). People were supported to understand information in ways that made sense to them and had a lot of opportunities to feedback about the service. The registered manager and staff team completed audits to monitor the quality of the service and make improvements where necessary.”
