“Date of Assessment: 10 July to 28 July 2025. The service is a residential care home service providing support to older people including people living with dementia and physical disabilities. This inspection was triggered by concerns raised about the care and treatment provided to people. We found no evidence during this inspection that people were at risk of harm from this concern.”

“The provider fostered a strong learning culture where concerns could be raised, and incidents were thoroughly investigated. People were kept safe through effective risk management and well-maintained, clean facilities that met their needs. However, we observed exposed pipes in 1 bathroom which placed people at risk of potential scalds, the provider promptly addressed this following our feedback. Staffing levels were sufficient, recruitment was safe, and staff received appropriate training and regular supervision. Medicines were well managed and routinely reviewed.”

“People and their relatives were involved in regular assessments of care needs. Staff supported healthy living by monitoring people’s health and making appropriate referrals to health professionals when required. However, people’s fluid intake targets had not been set, making it unclear how people’s hydration needs were being monitored. The provider addressed this by consulting a health professional to establish appropriate targets. Where people lacked capacity, decisions were made in their best interests with input from those close to them.”

“People were treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Staff supported individual preferences, offered choice, and encouraged relationships with family and friends. Staff responded to people's care needs in a timely manner, and staff wellbeing was actively supported by the provider.”

“People were actively involved in planning their care, with clear, accessible information provided by staff. People and relatives knew how to give feedback and were confident the provider took their concerns seriously. The home was adapted to meet individual needs, ensuring fair, inclusive care. End-of-life wishes were respectfully documented.”

“Leaders and staff shared a culture of trust, learning, and open communication. Leadership was visible and supportive, promoting staff development and continuous improvement. While governance systems were in place, some checks, such as environmental and fluid monitoring, needed improvement, which the provider addressed. Staff felt valued, understood their roles, and worked in an inclusive, respectful environment.”
