“Date of assessment 23 and 24 April 2025.”

“Beaman House is a care home providing personal care and accommodation to people with learning disabilities and autistic people. At the time of the inspection there were 3 people living at the home. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.”

“Staff were safely recruited and supported through induction and provided them with opportunities to get to know people they were caring for. People’s risks were identified and actions taken to mitigate their risks. Staff knew what was expected of them and worked across teams to tailor the care they provided to people, so it reflected people’s interests, needs and preferences. People’s care needs were regularly reviewed. Staff supported people in their best interests, where people wanted support to make some key decisions about their care. The registered manager planned to develop how they recorded this further. Staff were supported to provide good care and were confident any concerns and their feedback would be acted on. Person centred care was provided across the service. Some governance systems were working well, however, some areas of governance required additional development and embedding. The registered manager confirmed they would start to explore and plan for people’s end of life preferences and advanced wishes.”
