Inadequate
Report published 6 March 2026
“Date of Assessment: 25 November 2025 to 28 November 2025. The service is a care home providing support to older and younger people some who are living with dementia. This assessment was in response to CQC receiving information of concern about the care people were receiving.”
“Since our last assessment, the provider had not taken the necessary action needed to make improvements. The provider remained in breach of the legal regulations relating to people’s safe care and treatment and governance. In addition, we also found breaches relating to, staffing, dignity and respect, person centred care and the Mental capacity Act (2005).”

“People did not always receive safe care. Care plans and risk assessments were not always in place based on people’s assessed needs, contain up to date information about people or were reviewed to reflect incidents that had occurred. Medicines were not always administered, stored or disposed of safely. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) were not always fully considered placing people at risk of unlawfully being restricted and not giving appropriate consenting to their care.”
“The systems in place to ensure there were enough staff were not effectively completed and this meant people did not always have the opportunity to positively interact with staff and participate in activities they enjoyed.”
“People were not always treated in a respectful and dignified way. The environment was not always safely maintained, did not meet people’s needs and posed a risk of cross infection.”
“The systems in place were not always effective in identifying concerns. Improvements were needed to ensure where lessons could be learnt, this information was used to make changes.”
“However, staff were safely recruited. They had received mandatory training, and they felt involved with the service and listened to. There were safeguarding procedures in place which were followed when concerns were identified.”
“This service is being placed in special measures. The purpose of special measures is to ensure that services providing inadequate care make significant improvements. Special measures provide a framework within which we user our enforcement powers in response to inadequate care and provide a timeframe within which providers must improve the quality of the care they provide”
“In instances where CQC has begun a process of regulatory action, we may publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded, if the action has been taken forward.”
